Default Drop Rates differs for Professions ?

Hi,

Me and a friend started playing GW:NF at the same time, we started about 2 months ago. He is a M/N, I'm a D/M. We have together farmed FOW and his drops are hugely much better than mine! Since we have been playing he has had 3 max dmg and mod req8 items.... (a Fellblade, axe and shield) and 2 req 9 chaos axes....he has now over 700k due to selling these items. I have never had a req8 items or a rare skin which would command 100k+

Does profession change the drops you get ? Also does farming the same area over and over again affect the drop rates ?

I am finding the farming frustrating as for the same effort put in you get a lot less than other people, who seem to getting great drops!!

Rant over ....thanks.

No.

No difference in drop-rate for different professions.
No "over-farm" either.

You'll find pretty quickly that the variability in drop-rates in Guild Wars is massive. Sometimes you'll get nothing of worth for weeks on end.... and then sometimes you'll have a total gold-fest....

The randomness knows no outer limits.

Luck of the drops I would demand from your friend to get cut in on some of those deals though haha.

Honestly though, as far as I know, professions does not affect the ammount of drops or the rareity of those drops. Unless someone says different, I just dont believe it changes things.

There are places though that are farmed heavily by people that the drops of rares and so on does decrease. But it would change due to profession.

Well, for some of us, we know that not all things in this game are “random” . Whether or not you believe that will be determined by your own experiences.

Quick Example: Farm Cho’s Estate in HM using a 55 Monk and then with a 330 Rit. You’ll soon realize which yields better drops.

If you're doing the Mission.... 55 Monk no contest.
For the simple matter that a 330 Rit isn't Necro secondary... and so it can't Corpse-Teleport past the gates. The Monk can farm it faster and thus get better drops per unit time. ^_^

Explorable?
No idea. Wouldn't take my monk in there for fear of the Afflicted... personally.

Yeah as much as people like to propose theories based on their small ammount of time (When compared to the total of everyone else), its like flipping a coin 10 times and getting 7 heads. Obviousely based on that heads is more likely. However when you take everyone who has flipped a coin 10 times the figure is 50/50.

Just a run of bad luck for you or good luck for your friend.
